Living the Prayer of Jesus through Racial Sobriety

Matthew 10:26-33

Jesus makes a pact with his disciples that when he is confessed before others, he will confess us before the Father. Yes, we have fear as Jesus did in the garden. Yes, we choose the appropriate time to make our thoughts known just as Jesus says, “What I say to you in darkness, speak in the light…” But when our time to speak out on behalf of the marginalized community due to race, gender and class, we know that the cross of Jesus is where we find our “soap box” to stand on. He has promised us that we cannot be destroyed, for our life is in him and his kingdom will prevail. Fear not.
