Living the Prayer of Jesus through Racial Sobriety
Matthew 22:34-40
This second Sunday of wisdom teachings center on the battles between the Pharisees who are the teachers of Israel. Jesus in this conflict gives the two greatest commandments: love of God and love of neighbor as one’s self. This is the greatest teaching of all time. It is a challenge to each one of us who seek to be the greatest student of all time. We are to love God with all that we have and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Love of neighbor can only happen when we see them as our brothers and sisters. Our heavenly father makes us brothers and sisters to one another. This is the great lesson that the world has yet to learn. Let us each be the most earnest students of Jesus in the world today. |
