John 9: 1-41 or 9: 1, 6-9, 13-17, 34-38
Jesus witnesses to the reality that we rationalize about the things we see around us. And because we have the ability to rationalize, we have the ability to make things right that are wrong. This takes work. It means rolling up our sleeves and getting our hands dirty as we make the healing ointments of personal and social change. As Jesus says so clearly of himself, “While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Each one of us are in the world on a divine assignment. When we engage ourselves in ways that are in accord with the divine agenda, God’s work begins to change the condition of our world. We become part of Jesus’ mission to change the human condition. When this becomes our consecration, we become “the light of the world,” reflecting the brilliance of Christ the eternal light. |
