Living the Prayer of Jesus through Racial Sobriety
Matthew 5:13-16
“Your light must shine before others,” Jesus tells us. Witness is the whole work of racial sobriety. As salt, we are called to season the world with our love for the human family. We change the taste of bitterness to the sweetness of human compassion. We take the darkness of fears, ignorance and guilts and dispel them with our light. This glorifies God because this is his will. Jesus came to show us that we are brothers and sisters, and he taught us to pray the “Our Father.” To live in the light is a challenge. But to live in the darkness is a catastrophe.
