Living the Prayer of Jesus through Racial Sobriety

Matthew 3: 13-17

Whatever uneasiness and disquiet we feel as we enter a new year we can find comfort as John did by the words of Jesus, “Allow it for now…” As we stand on the shores of a new year and re-dedicate ourselves to witnessing to our racial sobriety, we will be at times overwhelmed with the demands that this decision will place upon us. It is a blessed consolation to find those times when the voice of God speaks to us and says, ‘This is my beloved, with whom I am well pleased.’ God does not call us to a task that he does not have sufficient grace to turn our trial into triumph.
