Living the Prayer of Jesus through Racial Sobriety

Luke 24:13-35

The first Easter did not begin in the atmosphere of joy that we experience today. It began with shock, anger, outrage and grief. The summation of the scripture tells why all these feelings were in abundance, “For they did not yet understand the Scripture that he had to rise from the dead.” In our efforts to bring about racial sobriety in ourselves, there is a need to resurrect the sober self from our racialized self.
