Peace and forgiveness are the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The feast of Pentecost is the celebration of the baptism of the Holy Spirit that John the Baptist prophesied about when he said that the one after him would go beyond a baptism of water and baptize with the Holy Spirit. The breath of Jesus is the Holy Spirit. Today we pray that the life of Jesus will be breathed into us so that we too, may live a life of the Holy Spirit and become apostles of his words and actions. Witnessing to our life in the Spirit is the whole work of the Gospel.
