Living the Prayer of Jesus through Racial Sobriety
Year B Gospel Commentary

23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mark 7:31-37
"He has done all things well. He makes the deaf hear and (the) mute speak." Jesus is needed to open eyes and loosen tongues today as He did in His times. We need to invite our friends to take time away from their busy lives and come and pray over the racial situation. This can be done with others who want to have their ?minds,? ?attitudes,? and hearts opened to the saving power of Jesus. Each person and the group as a whole praying as the disciples did on the day of Pentecost that God would loosen their tongues. In our day we pray that God will free our voice of racial sobriety.
