Jesus is the "suffering servant" who has his future ever before him and
to his disciples. However, their self interests are different than his
own. It is a lesson that we all have our own agenda as we follow Jesus
on the journey. Jesus brings the child to the center to demonstrate the
single-mindedness of a child. The child is willing to be of service for
Jesus; to be a model is what Jesus is asking of us. Our interests are
second to Jesus.
